Episode 54 Transcript

Heather

Hey you guys, welcome to episode 54. I'm gonna give you a busyness update in this episode because I think it's helpful to hear how other business owners are experiencing busyness. So two things to this podcast. Number one is I just wanna kinda share with you how I'm going through a moment of big growth in my company. And number two, I think it has to do with the second part of this podcast, which is, hmm, giving without expecting anything in return. So we'll talk about both. Let's talk busyness first. All right, so I think I have the most projects on in my business, website love, that I ever have had on. It is mind blowing to me. I have, I'm just, I'm looking up at like, I have a little board on my wall. I have, I don't know, 10 Google ad clients growing.

Facebook ad clients, meta ads that we managed about 10 of those, about 20 website projects on simultaneously right now, which is a lot for my business. Because we've always like, we've had multiple projects on, but nothing like this and constantly there's a full pipeline and lots of things happening. And so I'm incredibly grateful. And as a result of that, because of how I've shifted how I work, I don't get stressed.

Very rarely. I used to be. Like, I would not breathe. I wouldn't take time for myself. I don't know. I just got so stressed in my old business when I'd have moments of growth. But right now with all this happening, how am I handling it? So I'm not wearing busyness as a badge of honor. I will say I'm neglecting my friends. Sorry guys. Definitely I'm not like great with the social side. But...

I stick to my four days a week going to Pilates. And you will hear in this podcast with all of our other experts, they talk about the importance of your self-care. I never give that up. So I'm doing four days of Pilates. I've also started, because I wanna do a little bit more cardio, on top of that walks, like walks slash runs around my neighborhood on the days I'm not doing Pilates. So even though I'm so, have really busy schedule,

I don't let that go. That is so important. So that's the first thing. Number two is my team and my systems. So right in the middle of this, one of my beautiful project managers is leaving to pursue something else. And so as we're going through this high moment of growth, that's also happening. And instead of going, oh God, what am I gonna do? I'm using it to look at how myself as a boss and a manager and a leader can be better. And as...

a result of doing that cleaning up systems to make it easier for my team, you know, because now's the time. Um, and thankfully I found a new project manager that's coming on next week. So that's great. I have an amazing team. I'm just always thinking about how I can support them more. Um, and I've shifted also into that delegation mindset as well. So as I have this work coming in, I'm constantly thinking, who can I have on my team to support me, um, to, to do this and

There's been little things falling through the cracks for sure with clients. And look, I, the first to admit to them, what have I done that's wrong? What can I do that's better? I take responsibility. How can I improve my systems? How can I make you feel more loved? So there's always going to be moments of this for all of us when we're growing our businesses. I think the main thing that I've been learning from this with all the incredible clients that are coming on all the incredible projects, the full sales pipeline, all of that, this is happening.

While that's happening, I'm very grateful for that. I'm always looking for ways of improving, but I'm not neglecting my health and my wellness. And that's the key. I can breathe. Like I don't feel like right now I'm stressing with breath. I'm drinking, cheers to you watching a video. I'm drinking a kombucha. You know, I have my little herbs that I'm taking. I feel good. So I think that's the thing. It's definitely a mindset thing and looking at your team and analyzing your systems and strongly mindset and self-care. So just that's a quick busy update I guess for me is one thing I wish I could kind of be with my friends more but there's times you know when you can't necessarily do that. So off the back end of that I think that this is happening for something that is a big philosophy and that is giving without expecting anything in return and you never know when it might come back to you.

You never know this whole giving without expecting anything in return thing. So while I guess some backstory, there's a couple of big sort of big things that have happened recently. And one of them is for a business here in Australia called, um, the entourage. And the entourage is an incredible organization that trains entrepreneurs how to scale their businesses. And they've been around for a long time.

different iterations of the business. And I've been involved with them for a long time. So whether I was a speaker at their different events in the past, or sort of a coach or a mentor for their members, we would do for years something called an implementation session, which was free 15 minute sessions with me. If you were a member of the entourage, you could just book in my calendar, free 15 minute sessions, and you could literally get advice on digital marketing.

Whatever it is, you could share your screen and go help me fix this Facebook ad or this tracking or this landing page or how to optimize my website or which CRM system should I use all those things. So for a long time, I would just do these sessions for free and it wasn't a session to sell anything off of it was just pure value. And I would just use it as a moment to connect with lots of business owners, see what people need help with, you know, test my knowledge with people as well. And.

Yeah, I use them like that and giving a lot to the entourage and helping them and supporting them because they believe in them as an organization and what they do in the business space. So recently they've opened up this incredible department called the growth services and growth services is where they refer handpicked companies to work with their members or people that are coming to them that want services. And all of a sudden, um, I'm

I'm one of the core growth service partners and getting incredible referrals coming from this organization. And it's interesting, I find, because over the years I didn't really get any business at all, like probably working and supporting them for eight years. I know maybe a couple jobs here and there, but I never actually got business as a result of the relationship I had with that company.

But now it's just constant and it's, I'm incredibly grateful and amazed. And I was thinking about the other day, like, why is this all happening now? And call it karma, call it giving without, you know, looking for something in return, whatever it is, it's just sort of kind of like the universe or however you wanna look at that, it's sort of done a whole little like, let's balance out. Oops, let's balance out and like go give Heather some.

love for the value that she's provided over the years. So that's something that's helped us become incredibly busy and growing and you know, I have two new ads guys on my team, one that's incredible, one of the like, number one Google ads experts, certainly over in the States works with massive projects and is wanting to do some give back and some love here in Australia to small businesses. So he's helping our clients with Google ads and then I have an incredible.

meta ads experts on my team and the results we're getting for some clients there is amazing as well. So we have like these team members coming in to support this growth, which is brilliant. And that's another thing too, really great people, like incredible people at their craft and their skill and their kindness, because kindness is a big value of website love in my company and me, I really value kindness. And they're just kind of coming into the sphere of my life and my business, which is kind of cool. So

That was the first relationship. There's another really cool thing I want to end with that has come up as well as results. And, um, there's, I guess, long, long story short, there's another really incredible organization here in Australia that teaches business owners growth as well. And they're called business blueprint. Um, over the years with those guys, uh, I've done, you know, I show up at their round tables as a mentor for their members as well, and talk to them about digital marketing and, um,

just little things over the years, nothing, nothing too crazy, but, um, the founder of that business has started another, or I guess he's a partner in a business called BX networking, which by the way, you guys, you should look them up BX networking.com. You should look up any of these companies, the entourage training in Australia or BX networking.com is global. So a different take on business networking is pretty cool. So it is global. So BX networking, um,

kind of I was introduced to them from the founder of Business Blueprint. I should just shout out names, shouldn't I? Hello, Dale Beaumont and hello, Jack Deloso, the founder of the Entourage. Cause I know some of you guys listening know one. So two incredible blokes. So Dale kind of introduced me to Matt, who's the founder of BX Networking. And they approached me not too long ago and they said, Hey, do you want to speak on stage for us at this huge summit we have coming up? And there's a couple of very well known.

business speakers that I'm gonna be sharing the stage with. And again, it was like a cool little moment in time where I was like, wow, relationships with people, kindness, giving without expecting things in return, they pay off, they really do. Like, you don't know when, don't know where, but they do. So for those of you that are in Australia or anywhere near Brisbane or Queensland or feel like traveling that way, it's coming up.

Actually, I think it's I want to say it's in the Gold Coast Yeah, I think it's coming up at the end of this month in October whenever you're listening to this This will be October 2023 If you are interested go to BX networking comm right there in the menu. It just says BX So it's BX penential conference. So BX networking comm look in the menu it says BX penential conference and that is what you click on to go to the landing page and you'll see the whole

display of speakers, they have an expo, they have like a gala dinner, and I'll be speaking at that incredible event. And that'll be really fun to get back out there again. You know, I'm doing my own event as well, coming up in Feb of next year, more on that soon. But yeah, I think it's one of those things when you're growing your business with the right mindset and you're looking after yourself as a part of that. You're remembering to breathe and you're remembering to get outside and let the sun hit your skin

barefoot in the grass. Those little things keep you going. And I've worked very long days right now, but I somehow feel relaxed, weirdly relaxed. So I hopefully, there might've been just a couple little one-liners or things in this episode to help you. I'm not sure what they are. Maybe you're gonna attend a new conference or look some of these amazing people up, organizations, or maybe I'm just reminding you of how to work through the busy times, or maybe take better care of yourself. And maybe I'll leave you with the philosophy once again of giving without expecting anything in return. So that is it for this episode. Thank you so much for tuning in as always you guys. And by the way, my podcast listeners are growing too. That's seriously cool.

I'm getting subscribers on YouTube, on my YouTube channel, like a few hundred new subscribers. I have, I'm in like, what do I say, 18 countries now are listening to this podcast. It's more, you know, every day there's more people listening. So thank you. This is proof that just giving without expecting anything in return works because I just do this because I am enjoying meeting really cool people and hanging out with you guys and providing you value.

Never sure if 100% when and if it's gonna hit the mark, but it seems to be getting a little bit more of a following. So thank you guys for your support. I greatly appreciate it. And we will talk next time, bye.
