#44: How to get better results with your ads? Make no assumptions!

In their last session they discussed business growth and Heather volunteered what she was doing with her ads to get such great results.

Here’s a sneak peak of what she says:

  • I have short Reels that summarise each podcast episode.  
  • I make the more popular ones into ads using a combo of mindset and business advice. These are awareness ads. They warm people up to me and my style.
  • I build audiences of people who are watching these videos.  They are segmented into business advice and mindset advice.
  • I then promote 2 free resources to them to build my email list.  I am also testing this with cold targeting too.
  • I have a 30 min video training positioned as an on demand masterclass that shares the 6 things a website needs to get more customers.
  • I also give away a checklist of how to patch the leaky buckets on your website.
  • The checklist brings in $3 leads and the masterclass brings in $9 leads.
  • Had I not tested the 2 against each other I would not have known what might work better.
  • However, just because one is getting cheaper leads does not mean to turn off the more expensive one.  Ultimately you want customers and not just leads, so you need to find out which one brings in customers.
  • For us, it is too early to tell. And we are even going to test another freebie. After a couple of months we will know which one gets us the cheapest leads AND brings in customers.

Always be testing! And never assume what will work.
