Hello and welcome back to episode 179. Are you in a quiet month right now in your business? I've been hearing that from a few people. I'm kind of there too. We'll talk more about that in a second. But let me say this, you're not failing. You're in a season and it's okay to breathe. Welcome back you guys to Hustle Rebellion. Now today I want to...

basically talk to the part of you that's tired, that feels behind, that's wondering if maybe you're just not cut out for your business anymore. And here's my message for you today. Success has seasons, right? And it's okay, it's absolutely okay to have quiet months. We live in a culture that glorifies hustle, that worships like this constant momentum.

Next month, smash those goals. New quarter, bigger numbers. And if you're not growing, something's wrong, right? No, absolutely not. Because here's the truth that no one's actually talking about. Business has seasons. Life has rhythms and not every dip means that you're actually doing something wrong. Think about nature, right? It's natural thing. There's a season for planting, a season for growth, a season for harvest, and yes, a season for rest.

You're not meant to be on all the time. And if you're able to do that, look, my hat's off to you, but we're not meant to be on all the time. You're not falling if your calendar is light on appointments or bookings. The quiet month might actually be essential to something that's coming next for you. But that only works you guys if you stop resisting it and you start working with it. And I'm basically, I'm coaching myself right now, just so you know.

So it's absolutely happening for me right now. So since I turned 50 in May, and it could be the age, I don't know, I'm reevaluating everything in my life. And one of my core employees also left for like an incredible new job. So good honor for that, but she left and I didn't actually rehire her role because I'm not resisting. I'm just sort of sitting in this moment in time.

I've not been having any big client launches. I don't have any big like wins that I'm screenshotting and sharing with the world. And it's kind of rattling me a little bit you guys because I'm always so used to being in motion and like striving for more and wanting more in life as well. And I'm actually really working hard to pull back.

And I'm noticing that something's really shifting right now for my business and me and where I'm headed next, because I've just sort of allowed myself to sit in a stagnant. It's not even stagnant, but it's probably what the world would look at as a stagnant business. have my beautiful clients. I'm not trying to do any marketing. I'm not trying to grow. and right now that's actually been perfect.

and it's allowed me the space that I need to actually revisit what's important to me and what I want. A lot of the strategies and things that we talk about on this show. And I guess I'll say this, more on that soon because I have some really cool things that are gonna start to unfold that I'm actually, for the first time in a really long time, excited about and have hope and see this new direction that's coming. So stay tuned on that one, more on that.

But back to you guys, if you're in a slow season, here are a few mindset tools to stay grounded. Reframe that downtime as like reflection, which is what I've been doing, right? I've not been trying to push against it. You're not stuck. You're just sort of absorbing, restoring, like just realigning, trying to work out where you might be headed next. I always believe that like attracts like, and that goes with energy, right? So what you put out, you get back.

So if you're not feeling so great in your business, you're probably not attracting great things back, which is another sign to just chill out. So like pull away for a little while, ask yourself, where was I a year ago? And chances are you've grown way more than you're giving yourself credit for. And it's always like tempting to compare yourself or your business to your best month. And that best month could have been like five years ago for some of us. Don't go there as well because growth is not linear.

Heather Porter (04:43.094)

Right? Sometimes like the best thing you can do for your business is not push harder. So remind yourself that the rest that you do is actually part of the work, part of the growth also. And that oftentimes the best moments, aha moments, big changes, new directions come after the quiet moments or seasons. You're not behind your building. Absolutely. And instead of asking, why is it slow right now?

Try asking, what is this season in my business giving me space to see? Why am I here? What should I be seeing from this? Maybe it's a reset. I believe that there's a lot of wisdom and stillness and taking pauses in life. There's a lot that you can learn from that. Thank you so much for being here, you guys, as always. And thank you so much for being part of this community. Together, we're really...

fighting against burnout and overdrive and pretending that we're always fine because we're not, we're human. And it's okay to just reset and not always push in your business. Thank you guys. I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
